What is Creative Processing?
Creative Processing is a dynamic and experimental process for artists interested in exploring their work from a sensory and psycho-emotional perspective. Using simple techniques drawn from Gestalt Dreamwork, yogic meditation, and bodywork practices, participants are guided through a personal and multi-layered dialogue with their work. Whether you are a beginning artist or more developed in your practice, Creative Processing will ask you to re-discover and re-integrate your artistic process and current work. Creative Processing is not a critique, but rather an opportunity to explore the felt experience of artistic work that is critical to creative development, but often gets overlooked by critical analysis.

Robert Mauksch is a cultural anthropologist and communications consultant living in New York City. His interest in the overlapping processes of language production, culture, and the body-mind have led him to the study of Gestalt theory, therapy, and group facilitation at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York. Robert has studied meditation and yogic energy work with the Vivakananda Yoga Research Foundation in Bangalore, India, and is trained in Thai and Swedish massage. He is affiliated with BreakArts, a worldwide teaching artists collective, and is the developer of Creative Processing and Creative Dialoguing, a holistic and embodied approach to understanding new expression and the expressive arts.
